Come join us this summer and perform rock, pop, and music from your favorite film scores! This five day retreat will include rehearsals with dinner and end with a performance.
HOW DO I JOIN?
Open to both returning and NEW string students (violin, viola, cello and double bass) with at least one year of playing experience.
NO AUDITION REQUIRED!

Hollenbeck Bayley Conference Center (275 S Limestone St, Springfield, OH 45505)
The SYO will give performances at the Springfield Symphony Orchestra’s Youth Education fundraiser, Flavors, at the Hollenbeck Bayley Conference Center in downtown Springfield.
Flavors is the SSO Education Programs’ largest fundraiser for the year, and the musicians of the Springfield Youth Orchestras will be the stars of the evening!
HOW TO APPLY
1. If you are a current Springfield Youth Orchestras member (from the 2022-2023 season), you will automatically be accepted into the 2023 Strings Summer Music Camp! Simply apply below. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RETREAT, THIS WILL NOT AFFECT YOUR STANDING IN THE SYO/SCC IN THE REGULAR SEASON.
2. If you are a string student (violin, viola, cello and bass) with at least ONE YEAR PLAYING EXPERIENCE, you will automatically be accepted into the2023 Strings Summer Music Camp! Simply apply below.
3. If you are a brass student (trumpet, horn, trombone and tuba) with at least 2 years of playing experience, you will automatically be accepted into the 2023 SYO Summer Music Camp. Simply apply below.

COST
Tuition for each student to participate will be $100 and will include dinner each night. Financial aid is available in the form of partial and full tuition waivers on a need-based basis. You may indicate on your Summer Retreat application if you will need financial assistance.
