About the Event

1 - 1936 Timberline Trail - Woods and Folker Residence

This single-family home was built in 1956. With the kitchen being the heart of the home, the current owner knew upon purchasing the house in May, 2019, that a major update was necessary due to its narrow design, outdated tile flooring, old cabinets and laminate countertops.

The owner envisioned a more open and inviting space that was ideal for entertaining, and that vision became a reality. The kitchen was completely renovated, with flooring, lighting, cabinets, countertops, and appliances all being replaced. The old cabinets were upgraded to more modern ones while the laminate countertops were replaced with quartz. The single, long light fixture was swapped for energy-efficient LED lighting in the ceiling. The tile flooring was removed and replaced with laminate flooring throughout the entire house.

The most significant transformation was the removal of the wall that divided the kitchen from the rest of the space. In its place a kitchen island was installed, creating a more open and functional layout.

2 - 2360 Signal Hill Road - Modern Luxury on Signal Hill

This home was built in 2022. The kitchen combines modern style with practical design, featuring sleek black Noli cabinetry and a waterfall-edge island with 2cm quartz countertops. High-end appliances, including a Wolf range, Fisher & Payke double ovens, and Bosch built in dual dishwashers, make cooking and cleanup effortless. A column Thermador refrigerator, freezer, and built-in wine cabinet offer ample storage, while a dedicated coffee station adds a touch of luxury. A hidden pantry keeps the space clean and organized, and thoughtful lighting enhances the kitchen’s sleek, inviting look.

Designed for seamless indoor-outdoor living, a sliding glass wall opens to reveal a stunning pool view. On warm summer days the pool and patio feel like a natural extension of the home, perfect for entertaining or relaxing. Whether hosting guests or enjoying a quiet morning coffee with fresh air and sunshine, this space offers the perfect balance of comfort and style.

3 - 374 Secretariat Drive - Witeby Residence

This Designer Craftsman Style Ranch Home completed in 2022 was designed by the owners, Curt and Theresa Witeby, and Mike Jones, an accomplished, detail oriented, and hands on contractor in Springfield and surrounding areas. The kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, bookshelves, display cabinets and fireplace were built by Amish craftsmen. Under each drawer is a handwritten quote by the Amish.

The main floor includes a living space for the family and was designed for entertaining family and friends because Theresa loves to cook and bake. The home has a large dining room, butler’s pantry, walk in pantry, breakfast room and drop zone. The breakfast and dining room have wainscoting. The butler’s pantry features a wine refrigerator and light up cabinets. These lights can be changed to suit your mood or the season. Some highlights of the kitchen include a large center island with storage underneath, cambria quartz counter tops, marble back splash, cabinets with pull out drawers, farm sink, Z-Line 6 burner gas stove, counter depth double door refrigerator and freezer, convection microwave and KitchenAid dishwasher. Double sliding doors lead out to two large Amish made patio pavilions with an outdoor fireplace and Amish patio furniture. All flooring is luxury vinyl tile installed by James Flooring.

4 - 397 Secretariat Drive - Schutte Residence

This expansive 3900 square foot Modern Farmhouse has been meticulously designed and constructed to provide a comfortable and technologically advanced environment for entertaining family and guests. Built in 2025 this is Ohio’s first smart home to integrate both Levven light controls and Rheia HVAC, along with Amazon Alexa, Generac, and Reolink, allowing for comprehensive automation that can be managed via voice commands, smartphone apps, or internet access from anywhere globally. Built to withstand both earthquakes and hurricanes, the home includes voice-activated fire and carbon monoxide detection systems, along with fully soundproofed insulated walls.

Upon entering the home, a grand 22-foot foyer greets visitors, leading through wide 8-foot tall doors into rooms with soaring ceilings of 11, 10, and 9 feet, creating an open and airy atmosphere filled with natural light from the large windows throughout. The kitchen, regarded by the owners as the heart of the home, features a substantial 5x9-foot island topped with white quartz, serving as a central gathering place for socializing and enjoying snacks. A spacious 5x14-foot pantry discreetly stores dry goods and appliances, complete with a glass door inscribed with “self-serve Kitchen open 24 hours a day.” Culinary preparations are facilitated with professional Forno appliances, including a 48-inch dual fuel range with double convection ovens, eight 20,000 BTU Italian brass burners, a rotisserie, air fryer, wok ring, and griddle, complemented by a convenient pot filler on the marble brass hexagon tiled backsplash. The kitchen is equipped with a 48-inch motion-activated hood vent that efficiently removes unwanted fumes and smoke, working in conjunction with an Energy Recovery Ventilator to maintain optimal indoor air quality, and even has a whole house essential oil scent injection system. Additional features include a finishing oven, microwave, and broiler oven integrated into a pantry cabinet, alongside a 6-foot wide refrigerator and sub-zero freezer to ensure food freshness. A 108-bottle wine cooler with two beverage drawers ensures that guests are well-hydrated, while an automatic coffee café machine delivers barista-quality coffee, espresso, and lattes at the touch of a button. Finally, a 10-foot farmhouse dining table completes this inviting space. Lastly when all is finished dirty dishes are loaded into an ultra quiet Forno dishwasher before the owners head off to a night of dreams.

5 - 2630 Kilkenny Court - D’Arrigo Residence

Step into this kitchen where history and modern updates blend seamlessly. Designed after a home in southern England, the kitchen and family room serve as the heart of the owners’ home. Though it’s just the two of them, they love hosting large gatherings with family and friends.

At the center of their kitchen are exquisite handcrafted cherry wood cabinets, paired with solid painted cherry doors and complemented by oversized baseboards, chair railings, and crown molding. In a nod to the past the original design featured a stunning cherry countertop. Today that legacy has evolved into a sleek, durable granite countertop that offers both style and functionality.

The space opens into the dining area, home to their timeless walnut table—where family dinners and cherished memories have been shared for over 100 years. The warm cherry wood flooring further enhances the kitchen’s inviting charm with every detail reflecting a story of enduring tradition and thoughtful innovation.

A special addition to their kitchen is the “prep kitchen” just down the hall, complete with an extra oven—perfect for preparing the many dishes they love to share with their guests. This kitchen is a true celebration of heritage, hospitality, and home.
